Polysolar Limited were appointed to deliver a large solar canopy at West Bromwich market stall. Polysolar were the main contractor for the reconstruction of six new market stall structures along the High Street in West Bromwich. Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council were the main client and were looking for a scheme which underlines the council’s commitment to the ongoing redevelopment and improvement of the town centre along with their commitment reaching net zero emissions by 2050. 

Polysolar delivered six transparent solar canopies where the market stalls will be located, all varying sizing. The stall is a bespoke designed canopy to complement the aesthetic of the location. The structure will provide a total sheltered area of 230m² under which the market stalls will be located. 

The scheme was been carried out with an excellent safety record whilst ensuring robust social distancing measures are adhered to throughout construction, the overall scheme was completed within the 11-week construction period and was finalised at the end of April 2021.
